Catch up...

Hi guys, sorry I haven't blogged in so long. Been busy, plus my laptop decided to go off on one so I can't upload any images because I'm using the iPad. Annoying. No editing or anything for a while! Nightmare. So I thought I'd write a little catch up... I finished all my work despite my laptop packing in and loosing half my work.. And just recently had our exhibition. It was actually really nice to see everyone's work up on the walls of the paintworks in Bristol, I didnt know what to expect and was pleasantly suprised at how professional everyone's work looked. Also, I'm off to Cornwall on Thursday and I'm so excited! Going to stay with my boyfriend for a few weeks which should be lovely, I just hope the weather is on our side! I've been promised camping on the beach so I really hope it stays dry! Other than that, as soon as I get a laptop back I have so much to post... More final images from my animalistic project, images from the exhibition, plus I finished printing all the t-shirts from the snake collection so I will be posting them on here along with information on how to purchase one. Have a great summer everyone :)

Like a bird...

Here are some snaps from the location shoot I did a little while ago. The weather was not on my side that day, so didn't get too many which is a shame, as soon as we went in to change look, the heavens literally opened. Oh dear... i hope you like. I think we made the most of it :)

There are also a few in there from a more recent shoot.. images coming soon x
Happy Thursday.

Cabot Circus Fashion Show. Spring/Summer 2012

I cannot believe I'm actually sitting here blogging live from the shows here at Cabot Circus, the 'it' place for shopping in Bristol. Excited much? After assisting photographer Andre Regini with the catwalk shots yesterday, today is the day I get to take control!

First out, a gorgeously feminine collection from Warehouse. With pastel nudes and a splash of metallic and royal blue, it seems getting your legs out for summer is the way forward - I guess it's time for me to actually hit the gym rather than just saying I will....

The catwalks have actually been quite up-beat and choreographed which I wasn't expecting, yet it works so well and adds a little something special to the show. Personal fav from Warehouse? Has to be the metallic shorts. Definitely added to the wish list.

Next up was Fred Perry, who stocked up on the preppy chic in the best way possible - shorts with cardis, wayfarers and the classic polo. Can't go wrong there. For the lads, blue suede brogues were a definite colour pop.

Then the pace picked up with a workout inspired slot from Republic. With comfy casuals, bold colours, print and stripe they have captured all the latest trends in one hit. And once again it seems its all about the shorts to let those pins see the sunshine. (If we ever get any that is...)

The show then went on to the sexier Jane Norman, with slinky body-cons and bold prints. I'm not a major fan of the body-con as I haven't quite got the 'hollywood bod' just yet (oh but one day I will... I'm sure) but these fantastic models make them look effortlessly gorgeous. Jel.
Blue seems to be cropping up a lot this season too... Might have to add a tad more to the wardrobe.

Did I mention how amazing the shoes are?!

Gant then brought back the oh-so-famous nautical trend, and did it oh-so-well I might add. I absolutely love this knot print blouse...

With a similar colour palette E-Spirit danced their way down the catwalk, again bringing in stripes and shorts with added denim for that extra edge. Nice.

Hobbs kept things classic and sophisticated with neutral colours paired with bold print, over sized bags. They too, following along with letting your legs out in more relaxed midi skirts in floaty fabrics - perfect for a picnic in the park?

I'm so glad coral is back in trend too. Big fan. Perfect for dressing up and dressing down, or even adding just a splash with coral lippy or shoes...

Joules then brought in the florals - we all knew they would pop up for Spring. The prints were beautiful and not too in your face which is good. Blazers added to bring some tailored sophistication in contrast to the floaty floral skirts. I like I'll be adopting that trend. Floaty skirts and sharp blazers. Spot on.

So... to finish off the show, Reiss gave us the uber classic white mixed with neutral mocha. Always a sure hit for Spring Summer as it can be so easily worn. Contrast with bright accessories if you wanted, or keep it simple and elegant by sticking to the monotone. You'll look like an angel I'm sure.

That's all from me... there are shows on the hour until 4 today, so if you're free pop on down. for more info see Cabot Circus on Facebook, or tweet them @CabotCircus

Happy shopping. x

Lost...

Last one of the day... Sleep time. zzz

Lioness...

One more...

In the headlights...

I've started to explore more of an editorial way of including the 'Animalistic' theme into my photo shoots so far, here's my first go at adding some antlers to my model. What do you think?

Design boards...

Mood boards really help you understand the colour and concept of a piece of work. These are some examples of the design mood boards that I created for my t-shirt prints, with a design flat, inspiration image, colour ways and my logo. I decided to change the ampersand to fit each one, which I think works well for my brand as I can change it to fit any collection. Plus it spruces up the logo too... Plus I can then create 'holiday' inspired logos etc just by simply changing the colours around. Simple :)

Colour and snake...

Ok, so I'm going to let you see a snipett of the final snake tee's that I've made for the small part of the Pixies&Paupers S/S 2013 look book... These are the mood/inspiration boards with colour ways that I have made for each one. I hope you like.

From the darkness...

Here's a little preview of the second test shoot I did. This time I used a black backdrop, yet it still doesn't quite have the desired effect. I need greeeey. A huge thank you to my lovely model Christina. I like the garments I put together, I just think the images need more exciting hair and makeup to really make them really 'pop'. Plus I need to get hold of a snake... or a tiger... even a mouse will do...
Feel free to comment :) x

Top o' the mornin' to ye

Happy St. Patricks day to you all :)
I was born in Clonmel, Ireland (the little town they make Magners cider, ah yea), and most of my mum's side of the fam live over there in Tipperary so I just love this day! I wish I was in Dublin right now, it always looks so amazing, with parades and leprechauns and of course lots of Guinness... Unfortunately I'm working in Cheltenham tonight so can't have my own celebrations ~ weep ~ buy I guess as I'll be out in bars among all the atmosphere which is always a plus. Just a shame I can't enjoy a nice cider, or three...
Is everyone wearing green today?

Where have you been?

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, been rather busy. Okay, lets fill you in.. Last Tuesday I got to work with Andre Regini on a photo shoot for The Bristol Magazine which was really insightful. To be honest I was kind of 'hold the light lady' but I still learnt a lot, and credit to the models working outside all day was chilly! It was such a long day, but one I would definately do again, I just hope I get the opportunity too, and maybe a shoot that is a bit more 'high fashion editorial' than 'lifestyle pretty'. The garments and accessories came from stores like Zara, Harvey Nichols, House of Fraser, L.K Bennett and more, so they were really beautiful and well styled. My favorite piece was a stunning maxi skirt from Zara in a pastel salmon silk, it just glistened. Stunning.
I've also started shooting my own photos for my 'Animalistic' project which have come out quite well if I do say so myself... haha, what do you think?

With thanks to my lovely model Bianca.
I am quite pleased with the looks in each image, yet I think the lighting is still off a bit. I had a flashbox lighting the models right hand side and a beauty box lighting her face, but I don't think the lighting is 'moody' enough. It doesn't quite have the intensity I was after. But hey, that's what test shoots are for I guess.
Hope you like. x

A walk of art...

There is just so much amazing street art in Bristol, (can I just state that none of these works are mine, and unfortunately I don't know who's they are so sadly cannot credit) it's literally one big canvas. Everywhere you look there's a splash of colour or a giant face staring at you. This was also just another excuse to get the camera out :)
